    He attended Hofstra University on a lacrosse scholarship.
    He worked in the legal sector, prior to landing a coaching job for a high school team.
    He was a successful coach who won championships at every level he coached.
    He guided the Lightning's farm team to an AHL record 28 game winning streak and a Calder Cup championship (2011-12).
    He guided the Lightning to a Stanley Cup Finals berth in his second full season as an NHL head coach (2015).
