    Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Birth name is Andrew Jay Feustel
    Joined NASA in July 2000
First spaceflight was STS-125 aboard Space Shuttle Atlantis (May 2009)
Second spaceflight was STS-134 (launched on May 16, 2011 and landed on June 1, 2011)

He wanted to be a Formula One race car driver as a kid.
He admitted to being an acrophobic, or to having a 'mild fear of heights' (which he says goes away completely once he reaches 250 miles above the Earth).
He took a soft toy of the comic character Mole (Communism's answer to Mickey Mouse) with him on his second mission to space.
He is a member of the astronaut band Max Q.
He got his degree from a community college.
Before becoming an astronaut he worked as a mechanic restoring 1950s Jaguars.
His first mission was to successfully repair the Hubble Space Telescope.
As an aquanaut aboard the Aquarius underwater laboratory, in 2006, he lived and worked underwater for seven days.
He and his family flew to the Czech Republic to present the 'Mole' creator and animator, Zdenek Miler, with the toy he brought into space (Miler would die only four months later).
On his third mission, he paid homage to deceased Columbia astronaut, Ilan Ramon, by bringing a copy of child Holocaust victim Petr Ginz's artistic rendering of the Moon into space (Ramon and the copy had both perished on the original mission). This was also done as a tribute for Holocaust Remembrance Day.
