Why she might be annoying
Her stories center around rich, blue-blood types who get bumped off in posh locales.
Her murderers go to ridiculous lengths to commit their crimes, when a simple shove down a flight of stairs would usually suffice.
Her American characters often come off as yappy know-it-alls.
She was a teetotaler.
She vanished for three weeks in 1926, causing an international uproar. To this day, the reason behind her disappearance remains a - mystery! (Cue crack of thunder).
Why she might not be annoying
She volunteered as a nurse during World War I.
She was an amateur archaeologist.
Many of today's mystery writers recycle plots she devised decades ago.
She has millions of fans around the world.
Over 1 billion copies of her books have been sold (her sales are only surpassed by The Bible and Shakespeare).
Most of her books have been spawned into movie and TV adaptations.
