Why they might be annoying
They called Staten Island 'Shaolin.'
They got their name from a 'powerful, mythical kung fu sword wielded by an invincible congregation of warriors.'
Both RZA and GZA recorded solo albums in 1991 that went no where, prompting their respective record companies to drop them.
They had a song titled 'C.R.E.A.M.' which stood for 'Cash Rules Everything Around Me.'
After the song 'C.R.E.A.M.' became a hit, five members of the group, GZA, RZA, Raekwon, Method Man and Ol' Dirty Bastard, all signed with record companies to begin pursuing solo careers.
They dropped out midway through a tour with Rage Against the Machine (1997).
Ol' Dirty Bastard complained about Wu-Tang's loss in the Best Rap Album category during Shawn Colvin's acceptance speech at the Grammy's.
The groups fourth album, 'Iron Flag,' featured everyone except Ol' Dirty Bastard.
Why they might not be annoying
They were into kung fu.
Most of the members in the group have had successful solo careers.
RZA produced all of their group albums and many of the solo albums made from the members.
The album 'Wu-Tang Forever' sold over 600,000 units in its first week.
There were never any fights within the group over anyone showing-up the other members.
