The Resume

    (December 23, 1969- )
    Born in Chicago, Illinois
Point guard for the University of Michigan Wolverines (1989-93)
Former president and CEO of The Landmark Sports Agency
General manager for the Los Angeles Lakers

Why he might be annoying:

He is a dead ringer for Rob Lowe.
He never played a game in the NBA.
He was a member of the Michigan teams that were forced to vacate their NCAA national championship finalist status due to penalties.
He was hired as the Lakers general manager, despite the fact he had no experience working in an NBA front office.
Some basketball pundits felt he landed the Lakers general manager job due to his association with Kobe Bryant.
He was involved in a power struggle with team president Magic Johnson, which led to the latter abruptly resigning from his post.
His power struggle with Magic was a result on not being able to agree on a fair return in trade proposals with the New Orleans Pelicans to bring Anthony Davis to LA.
Laker fans used him as the scapegoat for Magic's departure, along with his failure to lure the likes of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to the team.

Why he might not be annoying:

He played against the likes of future NBA stars Tim Hardaway, Kevin Duckworth and Kendall Gill in the Chicago high school basketball ranks.
He earned the Walter Byers Scholarship Award in his senior season at Michigan.
Prior to the sanctions against Michigan, he was the first player in NCAA history to compete in three national championship games (1989, 1992, 1993).
He was a player agent, prior to being hired as the Lakers general manager.
He represented the likes of Kevin Durant and Carlos Boozer amongst his earliest clients.
He was described as being a fair negotiator by the players he represented.
He was successful in luring LeBron James to the Lakers.
He took a low-key approach in making the Anthony Davis trade, which he was able to pull off after Magic's departure from the Lakers.
