    (June 15, 1950-June 25, 2007)
    Born in Grenoble, France
French entertainer who ate normally indigestible objects
Consumed up to two pounds of metal a day
Over the years, ate 18 bicycles, 15 shopping carts, seven TV sets, six chandeliers, two beds and a Cessna aircraft
Known as Monsieur Mangetout ('Mr. Eats-All')
Recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as 'greatest omnivore'
He began eating metal compulsively at age nine.
His stomach lining was twice as thick as normal, which sounds like an unfair advantage.
He could eat metal with no problem, but said that bananas and hard-boiled eggs made him sick.
After he made the Guinness Book of Records, the publishers presented him with a brass plaque, which he proceeded to eat.
He presumably did not suffer from mineral deficiencies.
He was paid up to $2,000 for his eating performances.
He was temporarily sidelined after being stabbed in the stomach during an argument over a woman (1981).
