Why he might be annoying:

Ever since John Elway's retirement, the Broncos have not had a stellar season.
He was fired as Raiders coach after 4 games into the 1989 season.
He participates in extreme sports, such as cliff diving and bungee jumping.
He supposedly went behind Dan Reeves's back and created his own plays as a Broncos Quarterback coach and was fired for his trouble.
Jim Rome refers to him as 'The Rat.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He survived a life threatening kidney injury by having the damaged kidney removed.
He won two straight Super Bowls with the Broncos, a team known for coming close but never winning the Super Bowl.
He is known as a 'Player's Coach' and does not feel the need to bark at his players.
He worked as an assistant at Oklahoma and won a national championship there.
He got back at Dan Reeves by winning the second of his two Super Bowls against his Falcons.
