Radio and TV stations could not mention their band name on the air.
Their earlier recordings were nothing more than screamfests and guitar noises.
Most of their songs were intended to be vulgar and tasteless.
The song ‘Clean It Up’ featured a tape loop of vomiting noises.
For some inexplicable reason, they were signed to a major label (Capitol Records, 1992).
Even stranger, when Capitol dumped the band, they were quickly signed to Hollywood Records (a subsidiary of Disney)!
Erik Estrada made an appearance in the ‘Pepper’ video.
Gibby Haynes received his graduate degree in accounting and once worked for a top accounting firm.
Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones produced their ‘Independent Worm Saloon’ album.
Haynes collaborated with Johnny Depp to form an offshoot band ‘P.’
Haynes also did guest vocals on some Ministry recordings, one of them is the hit single 'Jesus Build My Hot Rod.'
On one 'Simpsons' episode, Todd wore a ‘Butthole Surfers’ T-shirt (edited, of course).
