    (November 2, 1948-October 26, 1980)
    Born in Buenos Aries, Argentina
Professional boxer and two time world light heavy weight champion
Professional record of 55-9-4 with 34 knockout wins
His home town was named Moron and his nickname translated into English as 'The Leopard of Moron.'
Known as an exciting brawler early in his career, he adopted a boring, counter punching, back to the ropes style midway through his career.
Fading badly after regaining the light heavyweight title, he never again won a major fight.
He fought a lot of very low quality opponents in his career (especially early on) sometimes repeatedly.
His victory over Yaqui Lopez in their second title fight was one of the worst decisions in boxing history.
His title defense against Eddie Mustafa Muhammad was so boring even the TV commentators complained, and when Galindez scored a knockdown against Muhammad, they dismissed it as being unimportant.
Becoming a race car driver after retiring from boxing, he was killed in his first race when his car broke down and he attempted to walk across the race track in the middle of a race.
    He ducked absolutely no one.
He was popular among knowledgeable fight fans due to his skills and courage, and was well liked by other fighters for his willingness to fight all comers and being a clean fighter.
He was a popular TV fighter (and a fixture on CBS Sports Spectacular in the seventies) because his fights tended to go into later rounds allowing the network broadcasting the fight to sell extra advertising time.
He was very tough physically, being stopped only three times in his career and never actually getting knocked out.
He stayed out of trouble outside the ring and race track and was known as an athlete and not a partier or troublemaker.
At only five foot nine and without particularly fast hands or feet, he had to overcome formidable physical challenges to become a successful fighter.
