He owns a polar bear skin rug.
When he decided to marry a commoner, he caused a major commotion in Norway and almost lost his succession to the throne.
Why he might not be annoying
At age six, he, his mother and siblings escaped nazi occupation by moving to the United States, while his father set up government-in-exile in London (1943).
His early education was through the state school system rather than a private education.
He attended Military school in Norway, then studied economics, history and political science at Balliol College Oxford England.
He broke Norwegian precedent by marrying a commoner, Sonja Haraldsen.
