Vocalists
    Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
    (1964–1977, 1992– )
Original members were Rich Dodson, Kim Berly, Race Holiday, Len Roemer and Brendan Lyttle (as the Rebounds)
Renamed the Stampeders in 1965 (Ronnie King and Van Louis replace Roemer)
Became a trio in 1968 with Dodson, Berly, and King
CDs include ‘Against the Grain,’ ‘Hit the Road’ and ‘Sure Beats Working’
Singles include ‘Carry Me,’ ‘Sweet City Woman,’ ‘Devil You,’ ‘Wild Eyes’ and ‘Hit the Road Jack’ (featuring Wolfman Jack)
Same name and location as the CFL team — though they relocated to Toronto in 1966.
You were born Kim Meyer and you became Kim Berly?
At the Rio de Janeiro song festival, where they were to represent Canada, they suffered a serious case of the backdoor trots over the local water.
To say nothing of their fans, Berly was not happy with the deviation from their pure-rock sound and followed Dodson out the door en route to a 15-year hiatus.
To avoid confusion with their football namesake, which uses the .com domain, their domain ends in .net.
King and Louis were birth brothers, respectively born Cornelius and Emile van Sprang.
As well as several Junos (Grammy equivalent), ‘Sweet City Woman’ reached the Canadian top single, adult contemporary, and country tracks top spots (1971). (And it made good use of Dodson’s banjo!)
While in Los Angeles, Keith Moon asked them to play at his birthday party.
