    Bea Benaderet as Blanche Morton
Hal March, John Brown, Bob Sweeney, Fred Clark or Larry Keating as Harry Morton
Premise: George plays straight man to his scatterbrained wife
Over eight years, it had five actors play the role of Harry Morton.
It was nominated for twelve Emmys without winning any.
Burns dismissed the show's pioneering reputation, commenting 'Television was so new that if an actor burped, everyone agreed it was an innovative concept and nothing like it had ever been done on television before.'
Despite what a lot of people think, when George said 'Say goodnight, Gracie,' her response was simply 'Goodnight' and not 'Goodnight, Gracie.'
Asked why they never used 'Goodnight, Gracie' as a line, Burns replied 'Believe it or not, no one ever thought of it.'
It was one of the first comedies to successfully make the transition from radio to TV.
During an appearance by their son Ronnie, Gracie quipped, 'The boy was produced by Burns and Allen.'
The show was famous for breaking the fourth wall, with George commenting to the viewers on the action or keeping tabs on Gracie by watching her on his TV set.
It was one of 20 classic TV shows featured on US postage stamps (2009).
