    When she went public that she was transgender, Against Me! became better known for that than their music.
    She is covered in tattoos.
    She did a lot of drugs as a teenager.
    She was arrested in a Florida coffee shop on battery charges in 2007.
    She admitted to once stealing her roommates birth control pills just to see what it is like to take them.
    She received overwhelming support from the punk rock community after coming out as transgender.
    In the song 'The Ocean' she sang 'If I could have chosen, I would have been born a woman.'
    She chose the name Laura because that's what her mom would have named her if she was born a woman.
    When Against Me! was starting out, she worked a lot of different odd jobs.
    She was inspired to come out as transgender after meeting a transgender Against Me! fan.
    She says got into the political aspects of punk rock because she was arrested by a cop for being 'a dirty, grubby little punk kid with black spiky hair who hadn't washed his pants in a year.'
