Why he might be annoying:

    He worked ‘with very low budgets, in disreputable genres.’
    He was described as ‘bald, bearded, and portly.’
    A critic said the characters he specialized in were ‘the ideal snob, boss, or waiter you wanted to get a pie in the face.’
    His parents mortgaged their house to finance ‘Eating Raoul’ after Roger Corman refused to put up the money for it.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He entered the film industry at age 13, working as an assistant animator for UPA.
    He received a Fulbright Scholarship to study filmmaking in Rome; his graduation project, a short film titled ‘Progetti,’ was presented at the 1962 Venice Film Festival.
    Several of his films have cult followings.
    He and Mary Woronov made over a dozen pictures together, prompting VideoHound to call them ‘the Tracy and Hepburn of B-movies.’
    A review of his cannibalistic social satire ‘Eating Raoul’ noted, ‘Black comedy is a difficult art to carry off, but he strikes the right comic chord from the start.’
