    He felt brunettes were sexier than blondes and used brunettes exclusively as the subject of his portraits.
    The brunettes in his portraits were labelled 'The Nagel Woman.'
    Many of his portraits were provocative and sexy.
    Hugh Hefner is a big admirer of his works and had Nagel contribute to Hefner's magazine.
    His popular posters have been collected by such prestigious institutions as the Library of Congress, the Oakland Museum, and the Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts at U.C.L.A.
    Permanent collections of his work are housed at the Bibliotheque des Arts Decoratifs, paris, and the Smithsonian Institution.
