    (December 6, 1897-February 8, 1943)
    Born in Nice, France
    French socialite/assassin
Second wife of French prime minister Joseph Calliaux
    Assasinated Gaston Calmette
Acquitted after a sensational trial (1914)
She was having an affair with the prime minister while he was still married to his first wife.
She murdered newspaper editor Gaston Calmette after he was critical of her husband.
She was the original O.J. Simpson.
She was acquitted because of sexism at the time; the defense argued women could not control their emotions.
She stood up for the man she loved.
Before she killed Calmette, she challenged him to a duel, which was unusual for high status women of the time.
Four years after her acquittal, her husband was arrested for treason.
