The Resume

    (May 12, 1986- )
    Born in Chungbuk, Korea (South)
    Archer
Won two gold (2004,2008) and one bronze (2012) Olympic medals in the men's team event
    Legally blind
20/100 vision in his right eye, 20/200 vision in his left eye

Why he might be annoying:

He almost quit archery when he was 15 because he felt he was not making progress fast enough.
At the 2004 Olympics, he set a world record in the men's ranking round, but it was not considered an Olympic record since it took place before the opening ceremony.
He said, 'All this interest in my sight is not welcome.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He cannot read a newspaper at arm's length, but he can hit a bulls eye the size of a grapefruit from 70 meters.
He credits his success to 'muscle memory' -- being almost robotically consistent in lining up shots, drawing the bow, and releasing the arrow.
He avoids participating in other sports because it could mess up the muscle memory in his arms.
