    He is a one hit wonder.
    His career began singing Country & Western fairs in the Toronto area at age 12.
    Signed by Motown in 1964, his first single 'My Ladybug (Stay Away From That Beatle)' was considered too weak a song, and never released.
    He staged a comeback during 1981-82 which failed.
    He plays guitar and piano, and his trombone work was used on several Motown hits.
    As a songwriter, he collaborated to help write the Motown songs 'I'll Turn to Stone' by the Four Tops, ' All I Need' by the Temptations, and the #1 smash hit 'Love Child' by Diana Ross & the Supremes.
    'Indiana Wants Me' was a hit in 1970, selling over one million copies and reaching #1 on the U.S. Cashbox chart, #1 in his native Canada and #2 in the U.K.
    A reissue of his 1967 song 'There's a Ghost in My House' was a surprise hit in the U.K., reaching #3 in 1974.
    He holds the distinction of being the first white artist in Motown history to put out a #1 record.
