    Born in Haarlem, Netherlands
    Joined the Waffen SS (1940)
Sentenced to death for 22 murders (1947)

Escaped from prison with six other Dutch SS members (December 26, 1952)

He came from a pro-fascist family that welcomed the Nazi invasion.
He was part of a firing squad at the Westerbork concentration camp (1943-44).
He was a member of the Silver Fir death squad which targeted members of the Dutch resistance and people who hid Jews.
He was also a member of Sonderkommando Feldmeijer, which assassinated Dutch citizens as reprisals for resistance activities.
The Dutch court said that he and his brother were 'two of the worst criminals of the SS.'
Germany repeatedly rejected extradition requests from the Netherlands because he was a German citizen, based on a 1943 decree by Hitler extending German citizenship to foreigners serving in the SS.
His father was killed by a member of the Dutch resistance (June 8, 1944).
His brother Pieter was executed for his war crimes (1948).
He, the brother and the father are presumably having a lovely family reunion in Hell.
