The Resume

    (July 31, 1971- )
    Birth name is John Lowery
    Performed with Marilyn Manson, 1998-2004
Played on 'Holy Wood (in the shadow of the valley of death)' (2000) and 'The Golden Age Of Grotesque' (2003).
Appeared in 'Doppleherz' (2003), and directed a segment of the 'Guns, God, and Government World Tour 2001' DVD.

Why he might be annoying:

His arms are covered with tattoos.
Due to his small frame and bleach-blonde hair, he makes a convincing, if flat-chested, woman.
At the Rock AM Ring 2003 concert, he and Marilyn almost got into a fight after Marilyn kicked him while goose-stepping onstage.
As a session player, he recorded with Cheap Trick's Robin Zander, John Wetton from Asia, k.d. lang, and David Lee Roth.
He originally auditioned for Marilyn Manson in 1996, after Daisy Berkowitz left the band, only to have missed the deadline. Zim Zum joined the group instead.
During 2003's Grotesk* Burlesque tour, John's sister, brother-in-law, and father died.
His last name has been (mis)spelt as 'Lowry.'
The meaning of his name comes from him being the 5th guitarist the band has had.
John 5's name suggests the movie 'Short Circuit.'
Even though he didn't play on 'Mechanical Animals,' his picture is in the CD sleeve.
His departure from the band came as a huge shock.
He has been known to throw his guitar into the audience at the end of a performance.

Why he might not be annoying:

He didn't start the fight with Marilyn at the Rock AM Ring in 2003, and was professional enough to put his guitar back on and keep playing.
He plays a lot of the time in dropped D.
A majority of the music from 'Holy Wood' was written by him, adding a new feel to the band's music.
His influence continued despite new member Tim Skold sharing a lot of the songwriting duties on 'The Golden Age Of Grotesque.'
While playing, he bangs his head from side to side rather than up and down.
He is married to Aria Giovanni.
After quitting the band, he landed a gig with Rob Zombie at Ozzfest in the summer of 2005.
Curiously enough, Manson isn't playing Ozzfest in 2005.
