    He threaten to quit boxing to become a European professional basketball player.
    He may have coined the term 'greatest pound for pound fighter.'
    He rides a motorcycle.
    He has been accused of choosing inferior opponents and dodging challenges.
    He was disqualified from a fight after landing two punches on a kneeling opponent (Montell Griffin - March 21, 1997).
    A week before losing a 2nd round knockout to Antonio Tarver, he told a reporter: 'Tarver couldn't beat me at my worst' (May 2004).

Why he might not be annoying:

    Despite having a broken hand going into his first title fight (against Bernard Hopkins), he refused to back out and wound up winning the vacant IBF Middleweight title.
    At 13 years old, he fought Antonio Tarver at the Sunshine State Games (Gainesville, FL) and won (1982).
    He unfairly lost a controversial decision in the 1988 Olympics that cost him the gold medal.
    While fighting Vinny Pazienza, he went an entire round without getting hit by a punch (June 24th 1995).
    By 2002, he held seven light heavyweight championship titles.
    He defeated John Ruiz in a 12 round decision to become the WBA Heavyweight Champion (2004).
    He fought in 50 professional boxing matches before losing for the first time by knockout (May 16, 2004).
    He helps support the financial needs of his friend, Gerald McClellan, who went blind and wheelchair bound after coming out of a boxing fight induced coma.
