Why they might be annoying:

They formed for a college fraternity party commemorating the 10th anniversary of Buddy Holly -- although the party was actually a month late.
    They were one-hit wonders.
Over the years, they had a perverse knack for signing with labels that went out of business just as one of their albums was being released, leaving no-one to produce or promote the record.
They eventually shortened their name to just ‘Flash Cadillac,’ partly because as they hit their 30s it no longer made sense to call themselves ‘Kids,’ partly because ‘no one ever enough room or letters on the marquees.’

Why they might not be annoying:

Their high-energy live shows often upstaged the bands they opened for. (Although the downside was that made many bands unwilling to book them as an opening act.)
They appeared as the prom band in ‘American Graffiti’ and contributed two songs to the soundtrack album.
They also appeared in an episode of Happy Days as Johnny Fish and the Fins.
Guitarist Philips suffered a heart attack at the end of a concert in Tulsa and died two days later (March, 1993).
