Personal Assistant
    (October 1953- )
    Born in California
    Former Associated Press editor
Aide to former New York Governor and US Vice President Nelson Rockefeller
Was with Rockefeller when he died in a Manhattan townhouse
When Rockefeller collapsed, instead of calling 911, she phoned a friend, who came over to the apartment, then finally called for help.
Although she was allegedly helping Rockefeller edit a book, when police and paramedics arrived, there were no papers out, an opened bottle of wine was out, she was wearing a black evening gown and he was not wearing shoes.
A Rockefeller spokesman told the press the former VP had died at his office in Rockefeller Center, that a male bodyguard was the only person present and the call to the police had been placed by an 'unidentified woman neighbor.'
The attempted cover-up fueled suspicions that Marshack had not been working along side Rockefeller but beneath him.
Her former boss at AP said, 'She was bright and ambitious, but not in the negative sense.'
She performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on Rockefeller until the paramedics arrived.
Asked if he had any message for Marshack, Stephen Rockefeller replied, 'I would tell her, 'I hope you made my grandfather happy.'
