Why he might be annoying:

He frequently recorded 100+ penalty minutes throughout the course of his career.
He was traded twice during the 1995-96 season.
His nickname is 'Lappy.'
He put himself in great danger by coming back from a concussion prematurely in order to play in the Stanley Cup Finals.
He missed the entire 2010-11 season as a result of injuries.

Why he might not be annoying:

He established himself as an everyday NHL player, upon being traded to Los Angeles.
His hard-nosed style of play made him a fan favorite in Los Angeles, Colorado and Philadelphia.
He sacrificed himself, by taking a Paul Martin slapshot to the face, during a playoff series with New Jersey (2010).
As a result of taking two pucks to the face during the 2009-10 season, he was dubbed the Toughest Player in the NHL that season.
Despite not being able to play the 2010-11 season as a result of post-concussion syndrome, he served the Flyers in various front office capacities, which earned him the Masterton Trophy (2011).
