U.S. Senator

The Resume

    (August 21, 1956- )
    Born in Havre, Montana
Democratic Senator from Montana (January 3, 2007- )
Former President of the Montana state Senate

Why he might be annoying:

He is a staunch supporter of Second Amendment (gun) rights, which doesn't sit well with some Democrats.
He lost three fingers on his left hand in a meat grinder (he was nine years old).
He chose not to take a side on the Employee Free Choice Act, not wanting to upset his business and/or union constituents.
The New York Times referred to him as a 'macho man.'
His support of logging expansion in the Montana wilderness angered some environmentalists.
He says he does some of his 'best thinking' on the tractor.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is a third generation farmer who runs an organic farm.
He graduated University of Great Falls, then worked as a music teacher.
His trademark buzz cut only costs $8 (how about that, John Edwards)!
Iconic rock band Pearl Jam played a fundraising concert for him.
He speaks his mind, and says he ran for office because he thought the country was in 'pretty damn poor shape.'
He is viewed as a rural populist who represents the American blue collar working class.
