He ran for United States Senate, but, lost in Georgia's Republican primary.
He announced he was running for president despite having never been elected to public office and having no legislative experience.
He opposed the building of a mosque in Tennessee, fearing Sharia Law would take over.
He pandered to fellow Evangelical Christians while arguing that Islam didn't honor the separation of church and state.
He upset Latino Republicans by stating he'd like to build an electrified wall between the United States and Mexico.
He admitted he'd been accused of sexual harassment when he was President of the National Restaurant Association, but, denied any wrongdoing (October 31, 2011).
Why he might not be annoying
He graduated Morehouse College.
He survived colon cancer.
He took credit for derailing Bill Clinton's health care plan after pointing out to the President that his forced health care plan would have a negative impact on businesses during a town hall meeting.
He helped Godfather's Pizza avoid bankruptcy after becoming CEO.
Although one of the least known Republican candidates, he developed a strong following amongst Tea Party activists and Evangelical Christians.
