The Resume

    (April 2, 1927-November 17, 2006)
    Born in Budapest, Hungary
    Birth name was Ferenc Purczeld
Played for Honved (1943-56) and Real Madrid (1958-66)
Played for Hungary in the Olympics (1952) and World Cup (1954)
Played for Spain in the World Cup (1962)
    Managed 17 teams (1967-93)

Why he might be annoying:

He started playing below the minimum age using a pseudonym.
He had difficulty hitting with his right foot and heading the ball.
While sidelined with an ankle injury during the 1954 World Cup, he reportedly struck Brazilian player Pinheiro with a bottle, inflicting a three-inch gash.
With the exception of guiding Panathinaikos FC to the European Cup finals (1971), his career as a manager was disappointing.

Why he might not be annoying:

Some witnesses said Pinheiro was struck by a spectator, not Puskas.
He led Real Madrid to three European Cup championships.
He was married to his wife Erzsebet for 57 years.
Although he defected in 1956, he remained a Hungarian hero and was given a state funeral.
