The Resume

Why Survivor 19: Samoa might be annoying:

The tribes were forced to choose leaders at the very start.
At tribal reward challenges, one member of the winning side was chosen by the tribe’s leader to miss out on the reward by taking a trip to the other tribe’s camp.
The leadership aspect didn’t really affect the final outcome, though.
There was no opening montage in the premiere episode, so Marisa, the first voted out, did not receive a single credit on the show (except in the Thanksgiving Day retrospective).
It featured two Russells in the same game.
Mike was rejected for Survivor: Tocantins due to health concerns, but was accepted for this cycle.
Sure enough, Mike was medically evacuated after only two episodes.
They had to put up with Russell H.’s constant scheming.
Producers did a poor job hiding the Hidden Immunity Idol; Russell H. kept finding it over and over, sometimes without a single hint.
Jeff didn’t bother to show up for the Bocce Ball reward challenge, so the tribes had to referee themselves.
During one other challenge, Russell S. fell ill, and in an unprecedented move, the challenge was cancelled without a declared winner.
In addition, the vote at the next Tribal Council was also cancelled, even though Tribal Council itself still took place (they just answered Jeff’s questions, then returned to camp).
For a while, it rained continuously for days on end.

Why Survivor 19: Samoa might not be annoying:

    No more exile island.
The merge took place with 12 players still alive, thus making Aiga the largest Survivor tribe to date.
Foa Foa won only one team immunity challenge and was down 8-4 at the merge, yet the so-called ‘Foa Foa 4’ came back and eliminated seven Galu members in a row.
Only one of the nine jurors, Jaison, was a Foa Foa.
For the first time in five cycles, no one made a fake hidden immunity idol.
Natalie came out of nowhere to pull off one of the biggest upsets ever, winning Sole Survivor by a vote of 7-2.
Ironically, Mick, who received zero jury votes, was initially perceived as the one finalist who could beat Russell H. in the final vote.
At the final Tribal Council, Erik lobbied on behalf of Natalie, possibly swaying the final vote in the process.
It proved that in Survivor, you can’t select your fellow finalists based on perceived electability.
