    Won two gold medals in ice dancing at the US Figure Skating Championship (2016-17)
    Won bronze medals in team figure skating and ice dancing at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics (2018)

Why they might be annoying:

    They are nicknamed the ‘Shib Sibs,’ which they also use as the name for their YouTube channel and Instagram account.
    Their terriers also have an Instagram account.
    Alex said he wanted to be a basketball player, ‘But reality struck. I wasn’t going to be tall enough.’
    Alex noted, ‘Because we’re brother and sister, Maia’s known how to push my buttons, I’ve known how to push hers.’
    As siblings, they had to avoid the romantic routines favored by other ice dancers.

Why they might not be annoying:

    Alex noted, ‘Role models were a little tricky for me as a kid – there weren’t a lot of Asian male skaters when I was growing up.’
    Alex called Maia ‘the most mature person I’ve ever met… a 30-year-old trapped in a 17-year-old’s body.’
    They were named Sports Envoys by the US State Department (2017).
    Asked if not being able to perform romantic routines was limiting, Maia replied, ‘Out of limitation comes creativity.’
