Why Fairchild Channel F might be annoying:

It was originally named Fairchild Video Entertainment System.
The graphics were horrible large blocks and were quickly outdated by the Atari 2600.
They were so overstocked during the 1977 Christmas season, that they dropped the price to under $100.
They were marketed in Europe as Grandstand, Luxor Video Entertainment System and Saba Video Play.

Why Fairchild Channel F might not be annoying:

They used Odyssey's idea of offering game cards (Videocarts) rather than just built in games.
Peter Max designed the cover art for the game cartridges.
