    (1971- )
    Formed in Springfield, Missouri
    1974 line-up:
John Dillon - vocals, guitar, mandolin, fiddle
Mike 'Supe' Granda - vocals, bass, acoustic guitar
    Buddy Brayfield - vocals, keyboards
Randle Chowning - vocals, lead guitar, harmonica
Steve Cash - vocals, guitar, harmonica
Larry Lee - vocals, drums, acoustic guitar
Recorded 'If You Wanna Get to Heaven' and 'Jackie Blue'
They are a two hit wonder.
They didn't think to use the abbreviation OMD so Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark helped themselves.
Chowning and Lee quit the group in 1978.
They switched record labels in 1980, recorded one album, then disappeared for 10 years.
They tour occasionally on the oldies circuit.
Their crisp, thought inducing lyrics had them favorably referred to as a country rock version of Steely Dan.
'Jackie Blue' was a Top 10 smash in 1975.
They have a lively sense of humor and their third album 'The Car Over the Lake Album' featured, well, what the title implied.
Vocalist and guitarist Bill Brown, who joined in 1990, was killed in a house fire in 2004.
