Why he might be annoying:

He was expelled from multiple schools, noting about one, 'I almost ran down one of the teachers on my motorcycle.'
He had a reputation for recklessness.
He liked to quote Bismarck's maxim, 'We Germans fear God and nothing else.'
He fastened only four points of his car's five-point safety harness, with the result that when he hit a wall at the Italian Grand Prix, he slid under the restraints and suffered a fatal throat injury.
He never got a chance to enjoy being Formula One champ, as he won the title posthumously.

Why he might not be annoying:

When he was one, both his parents were killed in an Allied bombing raid.
Asked how often he drove beyond his cars' limits, he quipped, 'Do I ever drive within them?'
He married fashion model Nina Lincoln.
He said, 'I race because I like it. I am now making money out of it, which I am very happy about, but I would never do it just for the money.'
An investigation into his death concluded that it was caused by poorly installed crash barriers, which gave way when hit, allowing Rindt's car to strike a solid wall.
