Why she might be annoying:

Her 'visions' may have been the result of temporal lobe epilepsy.
She had a vision of Jupiter, which she reported was inhabited by 'a tall, majestic people.'
She encouraged her followers to become vegetarians, but ate meat for most of her life.
She declared that masturbation caused 'affection of the liver and lungs, neuralgia, rheumatism, affection of the spine, diseased kidneys, and cancerous tumors.'

Why she might not be annoying:

At age nine, she was hit in the head by a rock thrown by a fellow student, which disfigured her nose and left her in a coma for three weeks.
Only two of her four children lived to adulthood.
She said her writings would not be needed if people would read the word of God themselves and pray for understanding.
