Why he might be annoying:

    During WWII, he was transferred from the Pacific Theater stateside to serve in the film unit headed by his father's friend, director John Ford.
    He unsuccessfully tried to launch a career as a singer.
    He later regretted following the advice of Ford and John Wayne and changing his name from Henry to Harry, Jr.

Why he might not be annoying:

    Because of the many Indians working on his parents' ranch, he learned to speak Navajo before he learned English.
    He originally served in the Navy as a medical corpsman and he protested against being transferred to the States.
    For 'Rio Grande' (1950), he and Ben Johnson learned to ride two horses while standing, with one foot on the back of each horse.
    He was married to Marilyn Fix for 68 years until his death.
    Director Joe Dante said, 'You got a lot of free movie history when you cast him.'
