Why he might be annoying
He had initially developed Gargoyles as a comedy-adventure concept (which ABC’s The Goliath Chronicles leaned toward).
He was involved only in the first episode of The Goliath Chronicles, making it not canon in the Gargoyles brand.
He makes it a point to steer clear of looking at any types of fan-fiction. Ever.
One section of ‘Ask Greg’ is called ‘Smart-Ass Responses,’ as in snark.
The ‘Weisman Curse’ is an inside joke referring to what happens to any third season of a show based on his works.
Why he might not be annoying
He was an avid history student.
Once his Disney contract was up in 1996, he spent two years at DreamWorks.
He remained active in the Gargoyles community, to the point where he continued to put out continuations in comic book form.
It’s not for selfish reasons that he refuses to consider any contact with fanfic; it’s all legal security.
He would go on to raise two children.
