His nickname was 'Butch.'
He was described as being loud and intimidating by former players.
His Stampeders team went from a perfect season to a 4-10 record two years later.
He lost any goodwill he had with Stampeders fans, when they felt his coaching style stagnated after two years.
He quit coaching altogether following the Stamps freefall two years later.
He drew fire from Canadian journalists for making snide remarks about the WIRU (CFL's West Division predecessor).
