The Resume

    (October 31, 1972- )
Born in South Jamaica, Queens, New York
    Troy Donald Jameson
Began as part of a collaborative underground Hip-Hop duo, Organized Konfusion, alongside Prince Po
Collaborative albums include 'Organized Konfusion' (1991), 'Stress: The Extinction Agenda' (1994), and 'The Equinox' (1997)
Later signed with the indie label, Rawkus Records, making his studio album debut in 1999
Released studio albums 'Internal Affairs' (1999) 'Desire' (2007), 'W.A.R. (We Are Renegades)' (2011), and 'PTSD: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder' (2014)
First single, 'Simon Says,' became a hit single, peaking at No. 97 on the Billboard Hot 100
'Simon Says' would later be featured in the popular films, 'Charlie's Angels' and 'Boiler Room' (both 2000); would later be sampled in Lil Kim's 'Black Friday' diss track
Recorded the songs 'Shine,' 'Desire,' 'The Light,' 'Damage,' 'Clap (One Day),' and 'Bad M.F.'
Collaborated with Common, Talib Kweli, Mr. Porter, Styles P, Jill Scott, Kanye West, Canibus, Nate Dogg, Macy Gray, and Mos Def

Why he might be annoying:

A Pharaoh with a Jewish sounding surname, now there's something you don't see everyday...
He admitted to being a regular Porn Hub upload user during a Sway in the Morning interview.
He got the stage name 'Monch' after receiving a bad haircut in high school.
Because the cut resembled a chimpanzee, the girls referred to him by the name 'Monchhichi' (a monkey doll); which he later shortened to 'Monch.'
He frequently sports exasperated, wild-eyed looks on his album covers, some of which make him look like David Alan Grier.
He was sued for sampling Akira Ifukube's Gojira Tai Mosura in his 'Simon Says' mix, which halted distribution of his first album.
He did an interview for the book 'How to Rap,' in which he compared rapping to screenwriting.
He did a Hip-Hop remix of Kenny Rogers' 'Know When to Hold Em' having it play in sync with a sanitized version of 'Simon Says.'
While the lawsuit did his career no favors, his marketability was probably more hurt by his other assorted artistic eccentricities, such as disappearing from the public scene for unusually long stretches at a time to perfect the rhythmic feel of his work.

Why he might not be annoying:

Simon Says Get the Hell Out!
He rapped the theme song for the 2002 edition of 'Madden NFL' video game.
He parodied the 'Apocalypse Now' movie for his debut album cover.
He virtually revolutionized the rap genre by combining the use of complex lyrics/delivery, multisyllabic rhyme schemes, and synthesized/electronic instrumentals.
Kool Moe Dee ranked him #26 in his best MCs of all time list.
He heavily influenced Eminem, who gives him a shout out at every given opportunity.
He contributed to the 2001 'Training Day' soundtrack with his 'Fuck You' track, and later to the 'Fantastic Four' soundtrack, in 2005, with 'New World Symphony.'
He exhibits an astonishing level of versatility as a rap artist, showing a willingness to veer into the sampling of Jazz, R&B, Country, Gospel, Rock, and Classical genres in his mix-tapes.
He shot ads for Sprite attacking racism and stereotypes, along with fellow rappers Mos Def, Beanie Sigel, and Lord Finesse (2000).
His 'Simon Says' beat is instantly recognizable in Hip-Hop circles to the point where most millennial fans who hear it at parties know it even if they can't name the guy who originated it.
He is a Hip-Hop pioneer who has managed to steer clear from the corrupting influences of the music industry and maintain a clean image.
