    (1978- )
    Formed in Southern California
    Janice-Marie Johnson (bass)
    Hazel Payne (guitar/keyboards)
Famous for the 1978 disco anthem 'Boogie Oogie Oogie'
    They are a two-hit wonder.
To squeeze more life out of 'Boogie Oogie Oogie,' a Spanish version was recorded.
The song was used in a 1999 Burger King commercial.
Due to a publishing dispute, the group lost all rights to their second hit, an English translation of Kyu Sakamoto's 'Sukiyaki.'
They were awarded the 'Best New Artist' Grammy in 1979.
'Boogie Oogie Oogie' was inspired by a gig at a military base. The men in the audience reacted negatively to a pair of women leading a band.
Both Hazel and Janice-Marie continue to be successful, performing on the oldies disco circuit.
