Why he might be annoying:

    He comes from a political family; his father and brother each served as Mayor of Chicago.
    His business background angered some of President Obama's liberal supporters.
    Specifically, many liberals hold a grudge against him for his role in helping to pass the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
    He worked on Al Gore's failed Presidential campaign (2000).
    Critics often questioned his intelligence and intellectual capabilities.
    He left Providence College after one year because he was homesick.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He graduated Loyola University and John Marshall Law School.
    He opposed the mixing of politics and religion.
    He might've been selected Chief of Staff to help improve Obama's relationship with the business community.
    President Obama said: 'he possesses a deep understanding of how jobs are created and how to grow our economy.'
    He was portrayed by Mitch Pileggi in the HBO film 'Recount.'
    He was praised for his easy going, laid back demeanor (a sharp contrast to his predecessor, Rahm Emanuel).
