    Appeared in the films 'The French Revolution' (1989), 'Impromptu' (1990), 'Christopher Columbus: The Discovery' (1992), 'Minotaur' (1995), 'Escape from L.A.' (1996), 'Stand By' (1999), 'World of Honor' (2001), 'A Touch of Spice' (2003), 'Without Borders' (2008), 'The Ball of the Actresses' (2009) and 'Papadopoulos and Sons' (2012)
    In the 70s, he dropped out of acting for three years to hitchhike around Europe and the US, singing at 'pre-rap free-jazz-punk' happenings.
    His European success never quite carried over to America.
    He was nominated for a Razzie as 'Worst New Star' for his performance in the title role of 'Christopher Columbus: The Discovery.'
    He had his dentist remove his bridge when he was cast as a bum in 'Camille des Lilas et les Voleurs D'Enfants.' (2005)
    Robert Rodriguez nicknamed him 'the Freek' (from French + Greek) on the set of 'Escape from L.A.,' and he answers 'I'm a Freek' whenever he is asked about his background.
    He is fluent in French, Greek and English and has also performed in Spanish, German, Russian, Turkish and Kurdish.
    He did his own car stunts in 'Meine Tochter Gehort Mir.' (1992)
    He is a top box office draw in France, Greece and Spain.
    Four of the films he starred in became Greece's submissions for the Best Foreign Film Academy Award.
