Why he might be annoying:

After the demise of the Dwight Twilley Band, he formed several short-lived bands, including the Feel, Airtight, the Notions, the Mystery Band, and the Zings.
    He was a one-hit wonder.
Googling his name gets almost as many hits for Philip Seymour Hoffman as for him.

Why he might not be annoying:

He and Twilley met in a theater at a showing of the Beatles’ ‘A Hard Day’s Night.’
He sang backing vocals on Tom Petty’s singles ‘Breakdown’ and ‘American Girl.’
He died of lymphoma at age 41.
Despite the brevity of his career, he was considered a power pop icon.
