Bench coach for the Texas Rangers (1986-1988, 2007-2008) and the Colorado Rockies (1995)
Why he might be annoying
He did not play in the 1983 season due to an injury.
He managed the Athletics to the playoffs three times only to be eliminated in the first round (2000-2002).
His tenure as the manager of the Mets was uneventful.
The Texas Rangers lured him away after he was selected as the third base coach and an infield instructor of the Philadelphia Phillies for a short time following the 2006 season.
