    Worked in the lumber industry (1903)
    Formed Pacific Aero Products Company (1916) which he renamed Boeing Airplane Company (1917)
    Formed Boeing Air Transport (BAT) (1927)
    Consolidated a huge holding company called United Aircraft and Transport Company (1929)
    Resigned his chairmanship of the corporation and left the aviation business (1934)
    He dropped out at Yale University after his junior year, to begin his career in the lumber industry (1903).
    His company, Boeing Air Transport, was involved in airmail monopoly and condemned by Alabama Democrat Senator Hugo Black.
    Under Black-McKellar Act of 1934, Boeing's holdings under United Aircraft and Transport Corp were broken into three: Boeing Aircraft Co, United Airlines and United Aircraft (1934).
    He was an excellent businessman.
    To keep his small aircraft company alive, his company began to build dressers, counters and furniture for a corset company and a confectioner's shop (1918).
    He was awarded the Guggenheim Medal (1934).
    He resign from his company and became a successful horse breeder.
    He volunteered his time as a consultant to Boeing during WW II.
    His company had grown into a major aircraft manufacturer.
