Why he might be annoying:

    He drove a garbage truck before becoming an actor.
    He described his pre-Dos Equis acting career as 'lengthy, but mostly forgettable,'
    When they were in a play together early in their careers, he told Dustin Hoffman, 'The reason you don't like me is I'm going to make it and you're not.'
    He cracked six ribs when he fell off a horse while filming a Western.
    For a scene in 'The Shootist' where John Wayne shoots his character between the eyes, he had blood capsules fired into his face at point blank range for seven unpleasant takes. ('Each time, it raised a welt.')

    He founded the SABRE Foundation to protect Siberian tigers and their habitat.
    He rescued a girl from drowning in Malibu.
    While hiking on Mount Whitney during a snowstorm, he found a man suffering from hypothermia and cared for him until help arrived the next morning.
