Actor

The Resume

    (November 29, 1895-May 24, 1986)
    Born in Colfax, Washington
Birth name was Enos Edward Canutt
    Rodeo rider/actor/stuntman/second unit director
    Worked on over 300 films

Why he might be annoying:

He was named after Yakima, Washington, despite being from a town located 175 miles to the west.
He said his nose was improved after it was broken in a twelve-foot fall.
He went into stuntwork full-time after realizing his raspy voice was not suited for talkies.
Ironically, the only stuntman injured when he directed the chariot race in 'Ben Hur' (1959) was his son, Joe.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was married to Minnie Rice for 55 years until his death.
John Wayne said, 'I spent weeks studying the way Yakima Canutt walked and talked' while developing his screen image.
He developed much of the early safety equipment for movie stunts.
He became the first (and as of 2008 only) stuntman to receive an Oscar for his work when he was given an honorary Academy Award (1967).
