The Resume

    (October 21, 1977- )
    Born in Anchorage, Alaska
    Grandson to Congressman Nick Begich
    Nephew to Senator Mark Begich
Ran for the House of Representatives to fill the seat vacated by Don Young in 2022
    Lost to Mary Peltola
    Republican

Why he might be annoying:

He is a Richard Spencer lookalike.
Like Lisa Murkowski, he’s a nepotism baby.
He promotes conspiracies that the University of Alaska operates a mass-mind-control device.
He interned for Don Young and then ran to unseat him less than six months later.
Don Young said: ‘I hired that young man to show him the ropes. I told him I knew he wanted to run for the job, [but] don't run against me. Right off the bat he hired my campaign manager - and that really pisses me off - and paid him three times what I was paying him. That’s not loyalty, nor is it honest. That's a person I don't want to serve me in Congress.’
He consistently claimed he was the Republicans’ best chance to maintain the seat after Young’s death in 2022, despite coming in a distant second to Sarah Palin in the Ranked Choice Vote system on multiple occasions.
By spending most of their campaigns attacking each other, he and Palin essentially split the Republican vote, resulting in a Democrat winning Alaska’s sole House seat for the first time in nearly 50 years.

Why he might not be annoying:

He graduated from Baylor University in 1999 with a BBA degree in entrepreneurship.
He is the founder and executive chairman of FarShore Partners, which was established in 2006.
He was a specialist in investor relations at Sensormatic in 1999.
He worked at Ford Motor Company in the information technology leadership program for two years.
His grandfather went missing in the crash of a light aircraft over Alaska in 1972 (his body was never found).
There are those who believe that he would have beaten Mary Peltola handily if he had been the sole Republican in the race.
