Her job has been made secure and her staff has doubled as she continues to do internal audits at Worldcom.
Some workers believe if she did not come forward, WorldCom could have borrowed money and worked there way out instead of being forced into bankruptcy.

Why she might not be annoying:

Growing up, her family was poor.
She took her first job at fourteen.
Along with Coleen Rowley and Sherron Watkins, she was named Time Magazine Persons of the Year (2002).
She noticed a $400 million error and was told by the CFO and a partner of Andersen Accounting about it and was told it was not a problem.
She uncovered the largest accounting fraud ever ($3,800,000,000 - $3.8 billion).
After others dug deeper, the fraud was $9 billion.
