Why Order of Preachers (Dominicans) might be annoying:

They were originally supposed to support themselves by begging.
The founder of the Spanish Inquisition, Tomas de Torquemada was a Dominican priest.
Although part of the reason they were founded was to counteract the Cathar heresy, they made little headway against them.
Although justly lauded for centuries of spreading learning among the poor, in contemporary times their school, colleges, and universities are often expensive and primarily geared towards serving well off students.

Why Order of Preachers (Dominicans) might not be annoying:

They were founded to combat the materialistic excesses of the Church of the Middle Ages and to bring the clergy out of the monasteries and churches and to live and preach among the people.
They are, 'dedicated to prayer, study and meditation.'
Their order of nuns was actually founded before their order of priests.
Their schools, colleges, and universities have educated millions.
Though they opposed Cathar theology, they recognized the righteousness the Cathar rejection of materialism and their belief in the equality of all men before God.
They were terribly oppressed during the French Revolution and in England after King Henry VIII broke the Church of England off from the Catholic Church.
