    (1966-November 17, 2008)
    Born in Russian Federation
Orphaned cub born in the Russian Arctic
Sent to the Winnipeg Assiniboine Park Zoo at age one
Recognized in 2008 as the world's oldest living polar bear by the Guinness Book of World Records
Also one of the top three record-holders for longevity among all eight species of bears
Euthanized due to multiple organ failure at age 42
She spent most of her 42 years confined in a zoo enclosure.
She was by far the most popular animal at the zoo, attracting over 18 million visitors and giving the other residents an inferiority complex.
Toward the end of her life she was given sweets that are bad for bears in a futile effort to bulk her up after dramatic weight loss.
She was Canada's answer to the Knut phenomenon.
She was a fan favorite, delighting both young and old with her antics.
She successfully sired six offspring with her mate, Skipper (who died in 1999 at age 34).
Few polar bears in the wild reach age 20 and only a handful in captivity live past age 30.
After she was euthanized tributes poured in from around the world.
She survived to 2008, designated as the International Year of the Polar Bear.
