    She was dumpy.
    Her voice was low and manly.
    One critic compared it to ‘somebody blowing into a jug.’
    She made her U.S. debut at a ‘hootenanny.’
    She announced she was going to record 22 albums of Robert Burns songs, but only finished seven.
    Many find her low voice hypnotic and spooky.
    She was one of the most important Celtic singers of the folk revival in the 1960’s.
    She sang with Bob Dylan.
    She knew a lot about history and folklore.
    She sang for Queen Elizabeth and at the Sydney Opera House.
